No-exam life insurance

Which applicants qualify, how the process unfolds, and what shifts if you don't.

A growing number of carriers provide expedited underwriting: within age and coverage brackets, decisions rely on your application, pharmacy history, driving records, and other records rather than a paramedical visit. Decisions sometimes arrive the same day. Every quote here notes whether an exam is needed, might be needed, or isn't needed.

What it changes

Accelerated underwriting isn't a skip on verification. Your statements are checked, and policies based on false information stay contestable for two years. If data flags arise, the carrier can request an exam or tests; you then pick whether to proceed.

Who tends to qualify

Usually: applicants younger than around 60, requesting coverage within the carrier's expedited limits, with clean health history and no nicotine use for a year or longer. Some carriers will take recent medical test results from your doctor instead of a new exam.

Should an exam be required, expect a 20 to 30-minute visit from a paramedical professional at your home or workplace, with no charge. Clean results frequently improve your rate tier, so an exam isn't necessarily unfavorable.
